Recently an advertisement appeared on Zillow about a penthouse in Chicago that has been preserved with all of the original furniture from the 1970s. This apartment has, by all means, the right to be called “groovy”. The condo is listed for sale, for just $158,000. It costs approximately $84 per square foot. For an additional $35 per month you get a heated garage and for $20 more, you get an outdoor parking space. The apartment is inside the Winston Towers at 7141 North Kedzie Avenue in West Rogers Park. The condo was built in 1972 and all of the original furniture and decorations inside have been professionally arranged back in the 1970s. Nothing is changed or modified, everything is in the same condition as back then. At first glance, the apartment looks very similar to the groovy scenography in the Austin Powers movies.
The apartment has 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, a kitchen, and a big living room, with a balcony that overlooks the outdoor pool of the complex. Two of the bedrooms are turned into a spacious living room.
The bedroom is covered with nice green geometrical wallpapers and as it looks green is one of the theme colors of the whole place, together with orange.
