Apple Inc. is Founded by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne

On April 1st, 1976, a revolution in technology quietly began in a small garage in Los Altos, California. Three visionaries, Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne, founded Apple Computer Inc. with the goal of bringing computing power to the masses. This date marks not just the birth of Apple Inc. but the beginning of a new era in personal computing. Their first product, the Apple I, hand-built by Wozniak, laid the groundwork for what would become the world’s most valuable company.

Did you know the company’s name, “Apple,” was chosen by Jobs after a visit to an apple farm? He hoped it would position the company as friendly and approachable, a stark contrast to the cold, intimidating names of other tech companies at the time. Moreover, the initial investment to start Apple came from selling a Volkswagen bus and a Hewlett-Packard calculator, providing the (apple) seed money needed to kickstart their vision.

From the introduction of the Macintosh in 1984, which popularized the graphical user interface, to the launch of the iPhone in 2007, which redefined what a smartphone could be, Apple has become the most valuable technology company in the world and is easily one of the most recognizable. The company has continually pushed the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of technology, with the world eagerly waiting to see what they will release next.
